My dealership is full of ****!
Just got off the phone. Took all day till I got someone to answer in the service and or parts dept. I told them I own an 03 evo viii and the guy asked if it was a MANUAL. I asked how much for 15,000 mi. service and they quoted me $220.00. I then asked if I could just buy the driveline fluids. They said no. I said why. They said because it comes in 5 gallon drums. So they gave me the specs on the fluids in case I go and buy aftermarket fliuds. "Diamond Gear Lube 75-85 it's a GL-5 and you're supposed to put it in the TC trans and rear diff- the whole driveline". I totally don't trust these a-holes at all. What do you guys think. I just want to take care of my baby. I need recomendations.
Well I don't think there were lying about the 5 gallon drums. Most dealerships get their oils this way. You can order the Diaqueen SAE90 from a few different places. Sears makes a good pump that I use for pumping the oil in the tranny/diff/transfer case.
If the guy asked if it was a manual.. that might be a good sign to DIY or find another dealer. Driveline fluids are not something you would want screwed up.

I'd use the Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil in the transfer case.
The latest revision in the shop manual, owners manual and just about anywhere else that Mitsubishi talks about oil for the transfer case they now state that they want it filled with the Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil. Mitsubishi knows about their transfer case and which oil to use better than anyone else, so we'd hope, and to say it again....do I really have to keep saying it????
Now there might be some oils on the market that will meet the requirements of the transfer case but I'd play it safe and stick with Mitsubishi's recommendations unless you want to deal with getting the transfer case covered under warranty.
Personally, I wouldn't use anything else.

I think mitsubishiparts.net carries it.. if they do they will have _probably_ the best price you will find on it. You have to search by part number there.. I can get the part # for the diaqueen if its on the can.
Lancershop.com has it too but they are a little high on price if I recall correctly. I'm sure other places have it as well..
I've been using syncromesh in the tranny.. got that at lancershop.com
