Question rough idling

I just bought a used stock 03 evo, I didn't notice it when i was test driving it but now it's idling kinda rough and also sounds like the engine is making alil bit of noise(sounds almost like a car that needs a new timing belt but just a faint sound) is this normal?

evo's seem to have an intermittent rough idle. i'm not positive what its due to, but it seems like a combination of weather conditions, fuel quality, and timing. anyone else? chime in cause i'd like to know if thats correct or at least what the correct answer is. as far as noise from the motor, usually the only thing you should hear is the valvetrain noise (a light clicking and such). the fans are pretty loud too. you will come to learn that noises are inherent with an evo.

did you buy it from a mitsu dealer or somewhere else? if it was a mitsu dealer, ask them to do a check up on it. if it wasn't a mitsu dealer, make your dealer aware that you'd like the car checked out and that you'd like an evo specialist (mitsu dealer) check it out. then have the mitsu dealer look at it and have the other dealer foot the bill.
