Downpipe decision...

i know this has been convered many times and i searched and narrowed it down to these. helix, works, hks, perrin, and buschur. what i want is for it to go on with NO MODIFICATION AT ALL and be able to hook up to a 3" hi flow cat. i will be getting an intake, walbro 255 fuel pump, mbc, flash and a hks hi power cat back, so could you help me make the best decision (piping size) based on the modifications? thanks a lot!

ps: please let me know if it doesnt meet my "qualifications" (fit with no modifications ect.)

what size exhaust are you going to get? ill assume 3", im using perrin and i love it, but everyone is biased, there are a lot of good ones out there, any of the the ones you mentioned would probably be fine, i would worry more about the diameter of the dp/exhaust than the brand you're going to use

p.s. if your downpipe wont clear the front brace, its not expensive at all to fix the problem...... you can easily find an aftermarket one for pretty cheap that will accomodate most dp's

I don't have an Evo yet but after some research I've decided on the Works with the ceramic coating, which is a nice thing to have since it's near the oil pan and will help keep temps down. From what I've heard it clears the tie bar too.

Yes it does clear the bar and the ceramic coating is definitely a plus, imo.

Only problem with the 30th ani. hi power is that it tapers to 2.5" where it meets the cat, so if your doing a full 3" system that is not the best thing to have.

I'll be getting the Works DP, UR hi flow cat and RNR 3" with the HKS Carbon Ti muffler. Anybody have this setup? any feedback, thoughts?

i would say exhaust, but if you're really set on it, then most other high flow cats are about the same, theres a thread up right now dealing with your exact question, just do some reading

JSYEVO,

Works racing makes a 3"HF cat that bolts directly into the stock cat spot. I have Works Downpipe(76mm) and I also have their 3" HF Cat.

I had not many choices on my downpipe becuase only a couple of Downpipes actually fits the MR well. As far is the 3" HF cat, Works is a direct fit, you might find some other HF 3" cats but they are not a direct fit and requires welding.

the only thing im not liking is the fact that the exhaust tapers down to 2.5" so then ill have a 2.75" dp, 3" hi flow cat, and from there it'll go to 2.5" and then back to 3". sounds like it would be restrictive in a sense that it cahnges piping sizes too much.
