should I get a fmic with my mods?
should I get a fmic with my mods?
In about 2 months my car will have a fully built race head and alky kit. I should be pushing close to 350 or maybe more, just by looking at some of the dyno #'s I have seen. My questions is do I need to upgrade to a bigger fmic on the stock turbo?

I would hope so
I know it probably wouldnt hurt but I keep hearing stock fmic is good for stock turbo and too big of a fmic could also be bad for a stock turbo.
The stock intercooler should be efficient as long as u don't boost too high (probably over 24-25 psi), but by then you'll be out of the turbo's efficiency range. I would just upgrade the IC piping and you should be good. IMO, i would upgrade the IC only when u upgrade ur turbo.
Upgrading the Stock 600cc intercooler to a larger 1100cc+ i/c will increase airflow and the turbo's efficiency ... youll be able to boost more.. (safely) stock turbo is good up to 27-28psi(spike, and only on alky). The stock turbo is limited by the stock intercooler.. you can get more power out of it if you upgrade... You can attaine 400-whp on the stock turbo with alky and an upgraded I/C with supporting mods...
