turbo problem?

I can't seem to get more than 13 lbs pressure out of my turbo, sometimes less.
Last week I was getting a high of 18. I'm stumped.

replaced stock solenoid, no effect
checked hoses for leaks
no changes in ecu from last week

what can it be?

Maybe it is your wastgate spring, or a massive boost leak somewhere.

take the intake pipe off and see if you can move the shaft back and forth...

take the intake off so you can see the compressor wheel. then grab the nut that holds the wheel on with your fingers and see if you can push and pull it. if you can move the wheels back and forth(right to left if you are standing in front of the car) then you turbo is shot and you need either a rebuild or a new one.

ugh, what kind of abuse did I do to cause that? (if that is what is wrong) assume I let the car cool down after a hard run.

I'll check it out next time I get some spare time.

it depends on how many miles are on the car and how hard you drove it for those miles. but if your car is fairly new then your turbo shouldn't be toast. you can also take off the upper i/c pipe to see if it has oil in it. i wish i could help further but i would have to see the car to give more help.

thanks, yeah at this point I don't know what to think. 12k miles on the car and about ten lapping days. so if it is the turbo I have to think it is a fluke.

i personally would take the time to put the car back to stock and take it to the dealership. just tell them that you have lost power and you want them to check it out. free is better then paying for the fix.
