O2 Housing Installed but w/o heatshield

Finally installed this PITA part!!!!

Now my only problem is, the stock heatshield won't fit on my Garage HRS O2 Housing unless I do little bit of cutting here and there.

Is it recommended to put back the heatshield or should I leave it as it is? will it cause any damage to my radiator if I don't put back the heatshield ??

My Stock O2 Housing

I would recommend putting the heatshield back on. I use the Helix o2 housing and was able to reinstall my heatshield. There is plenty of clearance for install if you pull the radiator. Also I've had mine on for about the past 8 months secured with only the top bolt, it's the only support left, torque it down and it will hold on their just fine

My heatshield also wouldn't fit back on. I have been running with it off for aver 6 months with no problems. I also know of several other Evos running without it and without problems. I suppose you should replace it if you can, however I personally am problem-free. I consulted with a local exhaust shop while they had the car in the air, and they also assured me that it should be okay without it. Do what makes you comfortable.

Cool!

I will try with the heatshield on and see if there's no rattling sound.

Yeah I don't think you'll have any serious problems from running without the heatshield but since it wasn't hard to reinstall mine I just went ahead and slapped it back on. I've never had any rattling issues from mine installed with just the one bolt, this was a big concern of mine however when I first put it back on so I paid great attention to see if this would be an issue.
