Safe to run...

I installed the following parts 3 weeks ago:

-ported TME turbo
-ported exhaust manifold
-apexi intake and induction box
aps TBE w/test pipe
-mr bov
-255lph fuel pump
-NO TUNE yet

My question is, what would you expect my a/f ratios to look like? I'd guess they would be kinda erratic because of the intake, but my real concern would be driving the car when it's in an overall lean state. I'm getting tuned as soon as my cams arrive and i can make an appointment w/turbotrix. I have put around 200 very easily driven miles on the car, and it runs great, no cels or any other issues. I just have no way to monitor the air/fuel ratio and I dont wanna take any chances by driving the car too much untuned.
Any thoughts?

IT shouldn't be a problem to be honest. IT may be a bit on the lean side every now and again but on the stock ecu you are running considerably "rich" from the factory. I wouldn't expect any detonation or severe consequences however just expect a little bit different of a powerband until tune.

Thanks. What impact will it have when I install my injectors (680cc)? Will they richen things up any without tuning?

BTW, I can't really comment on the power delivery much, as I've been taking it real easy, but I can say that with the above mods, spool up is MUCH faster. It spools signifigantly faster w/these mods at half throttle that the stock turbo did at full throttle.

Yes, bigger injectors will richen it, but it's already disgustingly rich from the factory above 5200rpm. I don't know if the intake alone leans it out, since you have an induction box, but if it does, then you would be most in danger below 4000, where it actually runs lean from the factory.

something to keep in mind is that your walbro fuel pump has effective raised your baseline psi from 43.5 to 50 psi.. with those mods i guess you would need fuel down low then start taking fuel out past 4000 rpm.. I would be most concerned about being lean under 4K.. but that pump at least gives you a little extra fueling.

Thanks guys. Will the ecu compensate for the lean condition in any way? I know it pulls timing when there is detenation, but how about just being lean? Will it "re-learn" the fuel maps and adjust over time?

Bump for some more info.

Would you recommend driving the car in this state? Providing I continue to go real easy and stay out of the boost as much as possible. The problem is that I'm sorta depending on the evo until my beater car is out of the shop.

it will be fine if you are driving it easy, hopefully you can get those cams and tune soon though, sounds like it is gonna be one hell of a ride....keep us posted

Thanks man, I can't wait 'till it's done.

Anyone else have any ideas on driving the car untuned?
