IYO what is the BEST streetable turbo

I am looking for a turbo setup that will give me the best acceleration on the street, with close to, or slightly slower boost response. I really don't care about topend speed, as I want quickness off of the line. Could you give me/us some numbers as far as pricing, Hp and the like...............

Met a guy last night that said the exact same thing, and he has a GT35 w/NOS.

He said the 3076r pulls like mad! How much cash for the kit, and what kind of numbers? Hp, 1/4 mile time, Trap time etc.........

Best acceleration on the street? If you are talking about a situation where you launch the car and accelerate well past the speedlimit, or where you race from a roll, then a larger turbo makes sense. Otherwise, you'd be better off with the stock turbo just to get away from a stoplight quickly on a routine basis.

It depends on what you you consider is streetable. There are also many different variables and setups for specific turbos that would make any turbo streetable. You can make a GT40R streetable with the right supporting mods. You can also make the stock turbo superior to slightly larger turbos with the right combination of mods and tuning...

So what are your power goals and intentions with the car?

if you dont care much for topend stay with wtock turbo or the TI turbine with 10.5 setup.. for streetable performance you dont need a standalone to get a lot of power but if you do chose standalone you will get extra power.

The tuning plays a big part as well, you can have a smaller turbo, with crappy tuning and it will spool slow or you can have a big turbo with good tuning and it will spool pretty quickly. I have a Precision SC61 turbo. T04E compressor cover, 56 trim compressor wheel, .63 A/R hotside with a Stage3 turbine wheel. My turbo will support up to 600hp, its non-ball bearing and I hit 20psi at 3800 RPMs. and the turbo pulls hard all the way to redline. On 93 octane and 18psi, tunes with a standalone, I made 369.9whp. That tune was extremely mild and it was done in about 45 mins. If I ran 22psi and messes with the timing, it would have made over 425whp, easy. Best of all, the turbo is affordable, its $750

If you want the most stock-like-spooling turbo, ur gonna wanna go with a GT3071R, which spools just a few hundred RPMs later than the stock turbo. It has the potential to make about 400 whp on pump gas and around 500 whp on race gas. As far asa pricing, im only aware of one reallt high quality kit, and thats the AMS turbo kit. I think its around $4,300, which is pretty expensive, but keep in mind ur getting a really nice turbo kit.

Any T3 flanged exhaust manifold, RNR, Full Race, AMS, etc. Oil feed and return. And a downpipe. Any shop can customize a downpipe pretty easy. Oil feed and return are like $40, its oil cooled only, no water. I'd say, turbo, manifold, oil lines, and custom downpipe runs about $2400. Plus whatever engine management you want.

By far the boys down in Houston @ Forced Performance have done it right with their gt3065 series turbo. I have this set up with HKS 264/272 cams and it is perfect putting 550+ hp to the ground.
