Mmmm...Swain Tech goodness inside

Got my AMS lower IC pipe and my Dejon Tool intake pipe for stock airbox coated with thermal barrier coating by Swain Tech. As you can see, this is much different than other coatings out there. I will be having my upper intercooler pipe coated when Nisei comes out with it. Also, anyone have a spare pipe from the stock compressor housing laying around? That little black piece? I want to get that coated too Enjoy.

Everytime I touch/check my intake and uip, it's heat soaked. Besides, it was only $115 for everything including shipping back to me.

Well, now my hard pipe is just as good (if not better) than your rubber hose

I think because he feels the intercooler piping can get heat soaked too. As far as I'm concerned, it's cheap insurance. Plus it looks cool

intake i can see getting heat soaked but not the i/c pipes.. thats why we and all good shops use alum. and not metal so the intake charge can dissapate a little more heat..

Aluminium may be able to dissipate heat more quickly, but everytime I touch my UIP it's very warm (read hot), not to mention the whole engine bay and anything near it. Besides, it's cheap insurance and certainly can't hurt. It can only help.

Besides, if the IC pipes are cooler than the engine bay, it will only be absorbing heat, right? I'm not an engineer, but isn't that the Law of Entropy at work?

my concern is that the swan coat is very rough, it will be extremely difficult to clean once there it gets stained

For all of the low temp induction parts, you could always just hit them with a quick coat of textured Rustoleum -- good as new!
