SO the difference from before is the cams and ported head? Was it tune before changes? did they tune it after upgrades yet?

The difference from before was the ported head, throttle body and intake manifold, and the cams. It was never tuned before and I am still waiting for my grace period to be over to go on a dyno to get tuned.

Did you dyno your car before you did the mods?

No I didn't but c'mon now, how many evo's on evoM do you think had the same mods that I had before I had this done? hmmmm... a lot right? so if i wanted a baseline for just having a DP back, I could just reference that.

I hope they didn't port match the exh ports and exh manifold to the gasket. It's way too big, will put the exh port walls very close to the water passage and generally screw your exh flow, (which is the most important on forced induction engines).

You would be surprised at the differences. Some cars come from the factory a bit stronger.

I just wanted to see if you did a before and after comparo. Then we could see in hard numbers what the improvement was on your specific vehicle.

Glad you're happy though - that's the important thing.

Sorry man but you are some what clueless. That dyno will not read the same as other dyno's. In order to get an accurate result you would need to dyno before and after on the same dyno. What others dynoed has nothing to do with what your car would dyno.

There could be a 10-15 hp difference between your car and other car's.

As far as a before and after comparison, I'm going to have to get numbers from cars that were similarly equipped for my baseline. Obviously, its too late now

Thanks

Thank you for your insight but I'm not exactly worried about a 10-15 hp difference. If I was THAT **** then I would have dynoed it before hand.

Sorry, but what I meant by that was you can't claim you have a 40hp (just an example) increase over stock without having dynoed it first. Using the baseline dyno from another car won't yield correct #'s. I see you don't exactly care what the prior dyno # would have been, but from a technical standpoint you can't claim any increase without prior testing.

I say this because the company that did this for you said you would gain X amount of power. You will not know the increase without knowing the Y (previous power) to the equation.

I'm glad your happy either way.

thanks. but i will post dyno numbers anyway and see where i stand in relation to similarly or better modded evo's. all i wanted anyway is to see how much horsepower i have now and how much i spent to gain it.

so, 3" dp was about $250
high flow cat was $235
exhaust was $400
labor was $0 coz i installed these parts myself.

so before the head package, i spent $885

head package was $1750
labor for head install was $450
gasket kit was $207

total for head install only is $2407

so total i've spent on the car (for hp gains, not including clutch) is $3292.

now all i need to do is go on a dyno and see how much i'm making.
