05 GSR--HKS downpipe ISSUES

Just installed the a few days ago. Am i the only 05 with HKS downpipe fitment issues.........it's not hitting the transfer case, it clears the cross bars just fine..it Rubbing on the subframe right before the flange that connects to the cat......

the Dp has been taken off and adjusted 2 times and still doesn't fit right.
It's not a bad rub or a constant mainly out of 1st gear.....still it's annoying and should not be happening for the price i paid.

Any other 05's have this issue......or just me???

Should i not have been sold this product for an 05...who is to blame here, HKS or the shop that sold it...

any input would be appreciated.

What cat and cat-back are you running? I have no problems with fitment with my hks dp on my 03. I am using a WORKS high flow cat and hks cat-back.

You're right the HKS has no fitment issues on 03-04.........but some dont fit properly on 05's due to larger transfer case, however that is not my issue....its the subframe before the cat.....im using stock cat and HKS carbon-ti exhaust...

anyone????

Hmmm... are you sure you installed the hangers properly on the downpipe and cat-back? I ran a stock cat w/ my hks downpipe before and didn't have an issue hitting the subframe. The subframe should be the same between all 03-05 evos.

When I was looking for the DP for my car Perrin told me they were having fitment issues with the 05's. I just purchased the JIC DP that is made for the 05 rs and gsr. It looks nice and the hardware comes with spacers for the cross bars. I will install it this weekend and put up pics so you all can see ( and then rip me apart as usual on this forum )
