They think the fork has bent, or the shift rail has failed in the area of 2nd actuation, or perhaps the synchro has completely failed. Why this occured I dont know, I take very good care of my car, and dont powershift it or anything, nor do i force it from gear to gear. If i did I would just send it to tre and get it beefed up, but no plans to destroy my investment anytime soon. Thanks for the post on that buddy.

For those wondering, as suspected by many, it was the synchro that went out, mitsu is replacing with new through all the gears. It wasnt broken but was defective he said, so it wasnt something I did he said. Well I though it was only 03's that were bad, so long as something is man made and designed i guess anything is subject to failure lol.

Yeah man, you are really lucky to find a dealer that won't jerk you around. Mitsu should have an option to forfit their "warranty" and get some cash back or something.

How can a syncro pop you out of gear when you are already in?

Apparently in cars with synchro's (I do believe mitsu uses an extra syncrho between (1-2)) that the syncrho actually helps to hold the car in each gear.. I dont know anything about trannies nor do I really want to, they said I had missed second once, apparently badly.. I dont recall missing it badly, however everytime I make a sharp left and go to hit second I seemed to miss it.. O well maybe now I wont.. That may have been driver error and was prolly me pulling the shifter to the right. Anyway, will update once I get the car back.. and also how the RPS street setup I got works as well.
