a serious tuning question

I have an 03 evo that has been very troublesome in the four months ive had it.

1. it took me two months to figure out i was missing the vacuum lines running from the boost solenoid and running only 11 lbs
2. my dealer voided my warranty and fixing this car ain cheap
3 my dealer gave me back my warranty as long as when it comes in it looks stock

so i have been considering trading in for an sti because i want a 6spd and i really love that dash and gauges.oh and the dealer is mod friendly

but i really love the potential of the evo in comparison to the sti. so would it be ok to do other mods that are harder to spot like cams, cam gears, and em and not do exhaust or would not freeing up the air effect the other mods?

once u start modding, u dont stop, trust me, yeah i guess u could hide those components but if something does go wrong with those componets u switched then it will void it anyway. Like u will hear "if u play then u pay". And besides if you mods dont affect the defect part u may have then they have to warranty it, even if u did mod it. Just so u know. And yes if u dont do exause, intake u will not get the full performance of ur other mods.

find another dealership who is mod friendly. I have my car decked out, (find photo under my sidepipe thread). the dealership where I bought it wouldnt warranty the tranny and (3rd gear). I drove it to another mitshu dealer on the other side of town, and they DID warranty the trans, just shop around! You shouldnt need alot of warranty work anyway,so start moddin and enjoying!!!!!Like Greyfox5 says, it is kind of like a "crack" habbit, you cant stop! Dont get the subie, they are limited on mods, and for the most part will always be in the rear-view mirror of an EVO!

If they are trying to void your warranty for exhaust, that's ridiculous. If you want to keep your warranty, I would suggest, intake, TBE with hi flow cat, 264's, and a reflash for your only mods. The car will still be a beast As far as the untrained eye can see, all you have is intake and exhaust. I would highly doubt any dealer would void your warranty for merely that.
