Question Going for alcohol, what #'s should I expect w/35R?

First, I don't know which kit to buy because they both have very good selling points. Both of the shops are "somewhat" near my house. I will be taking it to one of their shops for install and tune.

My mods are:
Magnus Intake Mani.
Custom GT35R kit
4 in. intake
tial wastegate
tial BOV
770 inj.
Whineboro fuel pump
3 in. TBE - no cat
HKS 272's
2.5 in. intercooler piping
AVO intercooler
perrin fuel rail
fuel pres. regulator
AEM EMS
etc...

That's the basic stuff on the car that I think will be a deciding factor. I also just installed a TRE TC, and a TRE race trans. w/ drag gearing. I am excited to see how it feels on higher boost. Right now it pulls very hard at 21 psi. with a very conservative tune. It's a totally different car with these gears, I highly recommend them. Although I think I need retuned after putting these gears in.

Any suggestions on which kit to go for? I have read every thread there is about these kits and I still can't make up my mind. Also what kind of WHP numbers do you think I should expect to get from this? Thanks in advance

boom! blown engine.

500 to the wheel with 30psi? seems like that's what people are getting.

should get the 1000 cc injectors, just so you don't max it out.

wastegate upgrade?

Someone has dropped some serious coin on their EVO. The gears don't make the car feel super laggy? I don't see how they can't.

Your wanting alcohol for the street? For racing just put in the good stuff VP116 or VP import.

Not at all. Especially if you have a good deal of power. You can use so much more of your power band. There is less shifting (obviously), and they are very streetable. I am rarely ever in 5th gear. In 5th gear at 3000 RPM I'm at 80 MPH.

When drag racing I'll never have to shift into 5th, it's all 4th gear now. In 4th gear I have gone 140 MPH (on a closed road ) and I was only at 7300 RPMs. It was pulling like a freight train. It was scary how fast it got up to 140.

I'm tired of running race gas and dealing with all of the hassles. Changing out the gas, plugs, maps, conatiners, etc... Granted I will use race gas once in a while, but for everyday driving I want to harness more of the 35R's power. I think alcohol will help me do this.

Changing your gearing should not really make the car need to be retuned I wouldnt think. I suppose it depends on how much it really changed the load points in each gear but I wouldnt think it would be that big a difference in load. I should have gotten that gearing right away... i am now stuck between bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th or trying to shift to 5th. Oh well.

I made 489 awhp on 93 octane and 50/50 denatured alky /water injection at only 25 psi with stock intake manifold and throttle body. Here is a link

I'm almost 100% positive that I need my midrange retuned. It feels a little sloppy and needs smoothed out. It should all be taken care of" if and when" I get one of these kits. Are you running one?

Thats what I'm talking about
That has to be awesome. Do you drive it everyday like that, and how often do you mix / fill a tank?

i drive it like that everyday....its very strong for daily use (too strong really). It can break all 4 of my 255 40 17 rt-615s loose if they are not fully heated up in second gear.

This is a good thing That is what I want. I'm tired of this weak 93 oct. WHP when there is so much more potential, especially with the 35R.

Still undecided about which kit to go with. I'm looking for very good service and tech. help when I need it. I haven't found a shop yet that can offer it like that. Although I haven't been to Buschur and AMS yet. I could kick myself for not going to one of these shops in the first place. Oh well, you live and learn.

By the way Dave, I still get a lot of compliments on my headlights. Much props to you again
