This only happens when I have the AC on, theres a clicking/tapping noise coming from the engine. Is this normal?

Hey man I have rattling in my engine bay with the a/c on probally due to the cams but i dont have a noise that sounds like yours. Sorry!

Think about what turns on when the AC is activated.
AC compressor and fan. If it doesn't make the sound with the fan
just blowing and no AC then it is a safe bet to look at the compressor.

it almost sounds like something tapping a fan blade in the engine bay.

I dont know if the sound was there before, never really checked but I just got my head built including cams so maybe it could be the cams or something. The noise does go on and off, so I doubt its something hitting the fan cause I can hear it near the top of the engine closer to the intake manifold.

sounds like a loose bolt somewhere in the engine bay or maybe something fell into the bay and is rattling. when i changed my fmic, there was this rattling noise until i figured out that one of my brackets lost it's bolt and was rattling against the frame. also an engine torque dampner quited the whole engine bay a little on mines.
