intercooler sprayer!

Hey everyone sorry if this is in the wrong place, my first post and still getting used to navigating these fourms. Anyway i bought an 03 evo about 2 months ago, and when i was reading the manual to figure out what kind of liqiud to put into the "intercooler water sprayer" the manual says wind sheild washer fluid. Personally i found that very strange but i've been useing washer fluid in it for about 2 months and everything is fine, i'm loving it. But i asked a couple of my friends with wrx's and sti's and they all said i was crazy and it's a watersprayer, i should be using water, or better yet distilled water. So what does everyone use, what should i be using? Washer fluid does sound a lil crazy but it's what the manual says so i figured i would use that.

the fluid doesn't really matter. It gets sprayed on the outside of the IC to reduce the heat soaking effect. The nice thing about washer fluid is that it won't freeze in the tank like straight water, and because of the alcohol content it will evaporate quicker than straight water increasing the cooling effect.

the chemicals don't matter, you don't use distilled water to wash your car (I hope), and the water from the sprayer doesn't go into the engine so what difference does it make?

Chemicals and minerals could build up eventually in the lines or nozzle and clog them. (I'm guessing)

I pulled it out and threw it in the corner of my garage. Now my HKS intake actually fits!

Shoot...got mine used and have always just used water. I'm going to have to try the washer fluid and see if I notice a difference.
