Fuel temp?
Fuel temp?
Hi,
Have now changed my fuel system.
A SARD 280 l/hr tank in the stock tank is feeding a 1½ litre catchtank in the boot, then two bosch 984 pumps are feeding the engine. The return line from the engine goes to the top of the catchtank and I also have a return line from the catchtank to the stock tank.
I noticed that if I let the car idle for a while or drive slowly the temp of the catchtank and fuel gets pretty hot, I would think about 40-45 celsius.
How hot should the fuel get? Are my stock lines to small and causing the heat? Or is it normal?

Should be 3 bar fuel pressure minus the vacuum so about 2,5 bar fuel press at idle..
Anyone else than me with a fuel catchtank that uses this routing of fuel? I mean that the engine return line goes to the catchtank instead of the stock tank? I guess this is what is causing the heating, that some of the fuel gets pumped to the enging, then to the catchtank and then to the engine again... etc..
