I'm considering getting the Greddy T67 EVO 8 Turbo upgrade
Well guys, I dont want to spend the $$$ for an AMS kit or even the Apexi RX6 kit. I figure for the price I should consider the Greddy kit for value, quality, and name brand recognition.
I know Al has tuned this kit at 18 psi with over 420 WHP.
Does anyone else have this kit or is considering getting it?
I know several vendors who are greddy dealers who wont have a problem giving me this kit at cost.

Well the T67 is a little bigger than a GT35R, so you won't hit full boost until around 4.5K-5K, and it's not a ball-bearing turbo like the GT35R. Unless you have a stroker motor your going to experience a lot of lag.
hehehe - funny I should read this after we just spoke. For the slight price increase between them, the AMS kit would absolutely be the way to go - ball bearing turbo with lots of upgrades possible, and one of the best aftermarket manifolds out there, period....plus proven, reliable power

from what i have heard....there are a lot of better alternatives than the T-67.....it's a huge turbo with a lot of lag......
you might want to check out a GT30 or the turbotrix turbo kit...
with my turbotrix turbo kit i made 430 on pump and spool was in the low 4k range...it's a badass kit

Or you can purchase my T67 kit with the cracked manifold get it for 1400 bucks and get urself a manifold and save 2 grand lol and no the this turbo does not spool up at 5K thats insane and besides once it hits its over and this turbo shines between 18-26 PSI it makes a LOT of power down low this kit is definetelly way to go But like people mentioned above if your going to buy a NEW KIT i would like the AMS kit if you have the money go for it
The Vivid car has the T67 and the Sparco car has the Apexi R6(less laggy). For road course stuff I would go with the Apexi if I had to choose between the two. I don't know how much effect the differnt EMS's make, if any tto the spool up or the differeent headers.

I had the T-67 on my car a couple of months ago. I'm selling it now, but I already have a buyer. I took it off the car due to the lag and the manifold cracking. Basically the T-67 is the biggest turbo KIT you can get from anyone for the evo. That being said it also comes with gobs of lag and power. Its a trade off, you can't get something for nothing, So you have to know exactly what you want before buying a turbo kit. The T-67 is the end all in terms of power though from a KIT, custom setups will get you more.
To me the trade off wasn't worth it, partially becuase my tuner didn't know what he was doing or perhaps he didn't care for my car, it was just a bad experience overall. The kit is capable of making power however, I never got to see a bit of that power. Then after driving a friend's car I realized that I was just a stock turbo kinda guy.
Good turbo kit, bad experience with tuner.

Humm, I should look into the turbo trix kit as well.....
430 on pump sounds impressive. I wonder what it'll do on alky injection?
Anyway, my plan is to keep the stock head, bottom end, and upgrade the turbo and boost it enough to be reliable and powerful, daily driven....
I have a T67-25G on my SR-powered 240. I love the kit, spools fast enough for me, with a second gear punch it spooled fast enough to keep me from getting jumped by a modded 03 cobra. I make full torque by 6000 rpms and peak power is at 7600 rpm. I'm putting down 450whp at 21 psi with a very conservative tune, high lift cams help out. I've had no poblems with my manifold but I added some reniforcement to mine.

Those kits are expensive! I know they make more power, but geez! I mean 4-5grand for a turbo! I can just use that money for supporting mods and max out the stock turbo. If I wanted to upgrade I would just get a TME or WR/BR21g for 1/3 the cost. Granted the WR doesn't look so hot after recent posts.

I like to rev thanks.
it hits full boost by around 4500-5000 (starting spooling at 3k) rpm so I happy with it. Peak torque being high tells you where the turbo/cams tops out, so I'm not starting a fall off in torque until after 6500 rpms picking up hp until 7600 rpm, I shift at 8000. I'm only running 264 HKS step 2.
