have a 2005 EVO MR with a Hks hi-power exhaust...which downpipe would be the best and which would fit the 6 speed transfer case becyase i know some downpipes fit on the Evo 8 and the EVO MR becuase of the 6 speed trans..thanx

I have a Tanabe 70mm ss dp on my MR with zero fitment issues.

 

Tanabe will fit with no issue but its on bo until end of the month.

Go 2.7'' HKS. Should fit much better than 3''. With no rattle to. HKS all the way. It's where you will find the BEST QUALITY, DIRECT FIT, and POWER. Trust me, that's HKS.

 

Yep the HKS fits perfectly in my 03

 

hks is 2.75 though. I have dc sports which is full 3" on my 2005. JUST ABOUT EVERY DOWNPIPE FOR THE 03, 04 EVO WILL FIT THE O5 MODELS

PS: MR'S HAVE THE SAME T-CASE AS 2003 AND 2004 EVOS, OTHER THEN THE ACD

all 2005 evos regardless of 5 speed or 6 have the same exact t-case

 

Actually, a lot of DP's will NOT fit 2005 models 5 speed models or MR's. I did this research not that long ago when I shopped for my DP. The ACD changes the transfer case clearance. For example Perrin will not fit (their website says so as well). I returned a TurboXS that didn't fit (although they said it would fit). Buschur makes a separate DP model for the MR. The JDM brands typically fit since the JDM Evo's have the ACD. Works claims 2005 and MR fitment. Not sure about other brands.
