What is your definition of torque tube? Because I've always thought that a torque tube was something akin to a torque converter. In other words, fluid filled.

I think that the red shaft is purely an axle, isn't it? Especially since the driver's side axle has to slide through the space in the center of that red shaft.

I called it a torque tube because it's a tube that transmits torque. You could also call it a hollow axle.

Looks good. That should help almost anyone understand the layout of the transmission and transfer case. Good work.

It depends, chances are if they blew it from an agressive launch (and the car is an 03 or 04 GSR w/ an open front diff, then they broke the 4 spider gears in the front differential. Those gears are made of a relatively weak powdered metal and break easily.

If the TC has an LSD or blew from low/no fluid, then they tore up the ring and pinion gears and the TC would first growl and howl, and then seize, or strip the teeth off. Same result either way, car won't go anymore.

Actually, theoretically the car could go if the teeth stripped off the ring or pinion, the center diff would also have to lock and the car would be FWD from that point on, but the chances of that happening are slim.
