problems with my car need some advice

problems with my car need some advice

so i posted a few weeks ago about some issues i have been having with my car lately. as of right now my mods are 3" turboback, intake, 272 cams, boost at 21psi, dynoflash custom tune, intercooler piping. my best pull at the track has been a 12.4 at 112 with a ok launch. a few weeks later i was pulling a 12.8-13.0 at 105-106 the weather was close to the same and it was the same track conditions and nothing on my car has changed in between the two times. i checked the compression of the cylanders and it was fine, i checked for boost leaks by running 30psi through the entire intercooler system and i was fine, i changed the plugs and i it still the same. i also had the clutch replaced about 5k ago with a rre xclutch so it rules out a slipping clutch because it grabs hard. so my question is what else could it be, my car runs fine for daily driving and isnt making any wierd noises or anything it has been confusing the hell out of me any suggestions??? thanks for any help

I think the first thing you should have done is some datalogging on a dyno to see what's going on. I would assume that you'd see only 270-280whp, which would be your first indication that there is some major power missing, and then you would see in the log if you're having timing/afr issues. I haven't heard of a custom flash going bad, but you would definitely want to start out by ensuring that the initially-tuned parameters are still taking effect. If it's not the clutch, the engine compression, the boost level, a boost leak, the temp, the humidity, nor the tune, then I don't know what's left other than a throttle-related issue that keeps you from going to 100% throttle.

yeah i was planning on calling my local dyno today to have some logging done in the near future an i also have never heard of a flash going bad hopefully i will be able to figure out what exactly is wrong with my car. i was also thinking that there could be a knock and it is retarding timing but i have no idea why that would happen because it is definatly not a bad tank of gas because this has been going on for weeks now.

hey Russ, funny you mention that...me and Q went up to the dragway a week ago...I was launching really light and running mid 13s, trapping 106. He was launching hard, and running 13.1-13.3 at 107. We were fully expecting 110-114 for traps.

We were both pretty pissed and were wondering what the hell was going on with our cars. Hmm...I wonder if the dragway's timing lights are screwed up??? We went last friday.

yeah i only trapped @ 107 that night...i have another friend who should trap @ like 114 is also trapping @ 107-108...wth is going on..? it seems all of our cars suffer the same fate...i have no idea man....

yeah its not the track though because right now i am pretty much dead even with a friends 05 turboback untuned evo, and my buddies 05 mr turboback running 21psi pulls me when i used to pull the hell out of both of them when they were stock, and my buddies 2g gsx with decent mods is dead even with me when a few weeks before i would pull him about a car to a car 1/2. does anyone have any other suggestions?? i am calling some more dyno's tomorrow morning to see when i could possibly get an appointment because i didnt have good luck with it today
