BOV Help

I had a Greddy RS BOV installed in my 03 evo, as well as a ram air intake. After the installation, whenever i engage the cluch after the engine has been in high rpm, for example, making a turn from 4th gear, the rpms drop back down to 1, but sometimes dip down to 0 so the engine trys to kill itself.

at first, the check engine light came on, and the error was the cam and crank position sensor...so far the light has come on twice and ive had to reset it both times.

The bov is vented to the air, and the car sometimes dies. This happens at any speed, usually around 40mph... ill just be slowing down, making a turn, and have my foot on the clutch while downshifting, and the rpms will sometimes drop too low and the engine will try to die, and i can feel myself losing power steering. its about 50/50, sometimes the car dies, sometimes the rpms can pop back up.

Any explanations for this? everything else is stock. Someone told me that it might be because i have more air going in, and not enough going out, so the mass air flow is getting messed up.

thanks for your help

You can't vent to atmosphere with the stock MAF sensor. You might also have it set too tight and causing surging.

get a bov with a recirc kit. not sure if they make one for yours or not. The maf senses air right after the filter and than you vta air that the sensor/ecu thinks is still in the engine...therefore the car runs bad.

Lotsa nice people here today... The usual response to such a topic would be to do a search.
