Question Car Died 2 Times, in 2 Track days... Help please =)

I when to 2 track days, every time after the trackday my car dies.

1st time:

Battery runs out, so i thought it was the alternator.

I changed it and then the car was still not working.

Then i found out it was the wire that connects to the alternator thats broke.

2nd time:

Today same thing happen, but i drove about 80 miles on my battery, then i switch batteries w/ my firend and drove another 80 miles....

Anyone have any other ideas? may be its not the wire??

Get a volt meter and check your voltage.

See if there is a drop anywhere or if there is a short somewhere.

Good Luck

What type of mods do you have?

Anything that could possibly be a suspect for the problem?

i think it would be either electrical ie: Defi gagues, TT, SAFC, or Greddy Profec B

or

That when im racing the engine gets so hot that it burns out a wire somewhere....

EDIT: You posted while I was typing this.

Could something be hard wired straight to the battery and be draining it to a point the alternator can't replenish it fast enough? Amplifier maybe? I'm reaching here.

Is there a CEL on the dash? If so look up the code for it and get back to us.
Do you have any kind of fan mod where the fans run more than they noramally would?
Give a detailed list of your electrical mods: turbo timer, EMS, S-AFC, etc....

Take it to somebody and have them check the electrical system.

Do a process of elimination and unhook the TT then drive the car. Unhook the profec B next and keep testing and so on. Obviously do the SAFC last if at all possible.

check voltage coming out of alt. if it's got ~14.4v it's good. if you only see the same voltage as you do with the car off then either the alt is bad or it's not getting the trigger signal to charge(some alts have this trigger but not sure if ours have this, sorry) check manual.

maybe the alt is on it's way out and the extra heat from the track kills it but when it cools back down it's ok then. at least for a while.

Does the car die while driving? I am sort of unclear on that.

Get a battery load tester that also checks the output of your Alt. Try and wiggle the wires going to the Alt while testing and see if there is a drop in voltage. Sounds to me like you may be loosing a signal to the Alt from either of the 3 wires at the Alt.
