Installed Kartboy Short Shifter Today

I installed the Kartboy Short Shifter along with the shifter box and underhood shifter bushings. I have never used a short shifter and It feels really nice and solid. I like how it shifts but it is really stiff now. It it normal? I love how it shifts just want to make sure I did it right. Don't want to be messing up my tranny.

yup it will stiffen up the shifter quite a bit if you are not used to it.

The stiffness is normal. A heavy (counter weight) shift knob will help loosen up the feel.

I have the Kartboy shifter, box bushings and underhood bushings and my shifter is also VERY stiff. People have complained at how difficult it is to shift gears in my car. One of my friends has the exact same bushings & shifter and his car shifts like butter. I've given up.

Maybe you have the spring to tight or too much lube...

Yeah the spring is what brings the shifter back to center. Also if you put to much lube in the upper pivot cup it could make it to stiff... One more thing, when putting the white pivot ball bushings on the shifter make sure to grease them up good.

if u put too much lube in the pivot cup, does it go away the more u work it in? OR do u have to open it all up again and wipe some off?

Doubtful. We installed them side-by-side and did everything exactly the same. I think it's either my tranny or my gear oil is too thick.
