I was very excited about the 2.7 liter project. I think you should continue to pursue this before going with a high reving motor. Make the "big block" EVO motor and see how much better torque is than horsepower!

I think we would have seen a 2.7L DSM by now if this was possible/feasible.
Going from 2.0 to 2.7 would be like taking a Chevy 350 all the way out to like 469 ci. Different engines, I know, but still waaay more then has ever been done. I think I've heard 426 small blocks. I just don't think there is enough block material for that kind of bore.

Theyre using a 4G64 block that is 2.4L from the factory. Adding .3L on that block is plenty safe, just like stroking a 4G63 to 2.3L is safe, right?

Mebbe so, but DSMers have been playing with 4G64 blocks for years and no one has built one yet either. The '64 block is like a bored '63 block from the factory with more deck height. Maybe it can be done, I just don't think it'll hold together long enough to be worth the expense of making it.
