Hey Guys my car has been running perfect and this morning when I went to start my car it started to smell funny in the car and in the engine bay when I popped the hood to see if anything was looking weird. I went to the back of my car and there where black solid flakes coming out of my exhaust. They were shooting out and it kept doing it. I shut off the car and now I am confused. I am afraid to drive the car with the current situation it’s in. What do you think it could be? I figured it could be the injectors? Spark plugs? 02 sensors? I don’t know anymore guys please help?

 

how many miles are on the car? what do the flakes look like? Do they look like rusted metal? it could be part of your exhaust components breaking apart inside your exhaust and shooting out the back. you could be smelling fumes from the hole in your exhaust starting to form. what does it smell like? Pictures of the flakes would help. I probably don't have the answer just trying to get more info for everyone and to look at every possible angle.

 

my car has low miles only 15k on it. Its not the rust and I cant take a pic...The exhaust is hks which is good quality. I can take it to my friends shop but its a 20 min ride would I be ok? If it were to be a foul 02 sencor or a foul spark plug?

 

if i recall, something liek that happen to a friend of mine who owned a civic hatch with a GSR motor. was thing but he shot out what appeared to be a mesh of somesort after that his car was superloud.

 

Chances are that was the fiberglass from the muffler
