Stupid Question!

I had my car flashed after installing the stage 2 package at Buschur.

Just he other day my "service engine soon" light came on so I disconnected the battery to reset the ecu just to shut the damn thing off for the time being. I'm going to have Autozone look at it on Tuesday so I can get the code.

My question is, by me reseting my ecu when disconnecting the positive battery terminal, would this have effected my flash from Buschur?

Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, your flash is gone forever. No one with a flash has ever disconnected their battery. Better go buy a new one.

The "engine service soon" light is best ignored on modified EVOs. Once you get exhuast, rally cats and 3" downpipe, that light will be on all the time. Who cares?

However, I'm not so sure that disconnecting the battery would erase your engine flash. Why would it? Disconnecting the power cord from your PC doesn't have the effect of erasing all your software. Call the flash vendor and ask them.

Finally, if you are driving the car and you can't tell whether you still have your flash or not by the seat of your pants, then it can't be a very good mod anyway.

Don't get so worked up over it.

It was just a joke, kinda like the guy who thought he found a muffler bearing clip in the passanger floorboard because that was what he was told it was.

You can find most of you answers if you do a search. If your lazy, expect smart *** responses.

I agree that it was uncalled for, but I still thought it was funny.

Yes, but Warralton does it so often that it gets really old and is not very funny anymore.

I have a 3" downpipe, and no cats, 15000 miles of driving with no cat, no codes. Thanks spark plug non-fouler mod!

I wouldn't drive my car with the check engine light on, how are you supposed to know when you have a new code?

He got a "yes or no" answer. If I wasn't facetious enough to answer his question, I'll try harder next time. There's more than one way to answer a question, you know? Some are more memorable than others, but just saying "yes" or "no" doesn't teach him why the question is ridiculous or why it's smart to search first (hint hint). I like Richard's PC analogy the best, but I wasn't smart enough to think of that.
