Downpipe with or without flex piece?

How much does the flex matter in the downpipe...I have a JIC DP (FOR SALE IF ANYONE INTERESTED) without a flex which was on my stock turbo, but now I have a RNR kit which came with a DP with a flex piece...how important is that piece...I really liked the JIC piece, but I trusted the R&D at RNR racing so i stuck with their DP.....holla

Our stock downpies do not have a flex section. The donut gasket and spring bolts allow the exhaust to move around when you go over bumps. IMO, downpipes that omit the stock donut gaskets and use a flex section are inferior because the manufacturer was too cheap to make a donut flange for it. The flex section also doesn't flow as well, but that is probably negligible. Either one should work.

Since you don't have an 05, it's not really an issue, but the newer cars and flex sectioned DP's generally mean there will be rubbing on the transfer case. Mine worked out ok because I flatened a section of it for clearance.

Stick with whatever piece you like.
