hallman MBC freaking out!!

ok i just installed my hallman MBC and i'm having a issue... it will hit 11 psi in a gear... then as soon as it shift again i hit 25 psi.... or any time i down shift... it hits 25 psi.. soo i think it's any time with i have a lot of load. it just spikes really bad.

my current mods,
Injen Intake,
Invida TBE,
Hallman MBC,
this is how it is currently setup... courtesy of plokivos

Which spring is in the MBC? How many turns did you turn it clockwise?

You probably have a pinched line somewhere in your setup.

Hmmm....yes seems likely. A pinch would behave that way.

There are two main ways to do it...

1. Hooking it up the compressor outlet nipple:
A. This way gives you less spikes but slower spool up.
B. It does not seem to give repeatable boost. It seems
to fluctuate more with the temperature.
C. Boost seems to be harder to control below 15 psi or
above 22 psi. Almost everyone who wrote me
said this.
D. It is easier to hook up this way. No cutting any
boost lines. Plus the lines are kept shorter.
(Thus the less spikes).

2. Hooking it to the hose between the BOV and the intake:
A. This way seems to give slightly faster spool up than
the other way.
B. It gives more repeatable boost. It doesn't seem to
fluctuate as much with temperature differences.
C. The boost seems to be more controllable down to
stock turbo levels. (Like down to 7 or 8 psi for a 1G
with a stock 14B turbo).
D. It is more work to hook up. You have to cut the hose
between the BOV and intake and tee it in. (Not
that this is hard, its just an extra step so I put it
in here)
E. Both Hallman and Extreme tell you to do it this way

Version 1 has worked for me on my First Evo I had fluctuations previously with using the BOV as the source. My new EVO has no mods.
After having it on the dyno Al told me to use the nipple from the turbo outlet pipe like stock and it has worked great with no problems at all. No fluctiations and I get repeatable boost everytime with my Hallman Evolution pro. Hey it easy to try this set up and while you doing it you can chek all your lines. If your lines are to long this also I have heard can cause some problems. Best of luck to you!

According to the above graphic, you have the lines backwards on the MBC. Swap them. Side port (out) goes to actuator. End port (in) goes to intake manifold. That will cure your issue. :>

I have installed the MBC both ways. Not a lot of difference between the two. As stated look for a pinched vacume line. Also you might want to check the boost gage line. I was pulling my hair out triing to figuer out my boost problems. All along it was a kink in the plastic line that Auto Meter supplys with thier boost guage. Never hurts to do a pressure test and search for leaks.
