Anybodys evo do this?

Bought my new evo a few months ago in the middle of summer. On the way to get it dynoflashed I got a CEL. Upon arrival I got an O2 (front one code 413 I think) code. I got the base flash and then drove home. It took the stupid dealers several days to get the new sensor in, but the car ran fine during that time. I added a K&N drop in after that.

Recently I have noticed that the car will not rev smoothly between 2.5K rpm and 4K. It kinda stutters a bit of you are in neutral, or jerks if u are driving. It goes away after ~1 mile, but when the car sits for 3-4hrs, even on a hot day it will do it a bit .

I thought it might have been the spark plugs got fouled during the O2 sensor code, but I changed them and it made no diff. I also put the origonal air filter in it made no difference. The only other thing I can think of is that the MAF sensor go some K&N oil on it, but not sure if that would cause the problem. DOnt really want to take it to my new cooler dealer in case it is the flash. Al (and me) are both pretty sure its not the flash as he has never heard of that b4.

Any suggestions?

I might mention it to the dealer to see if thay can find the problem. I dont think I could live without the flash. But if the problem gets worse, then I might have to go back to stock. No other mods on car.

it may be the oil on the maf, that is causing the problem.

Cheers for the suggestions

Wouldnt a boost leak have the same effect whether the car has been warned up or is cool? My boost guage says I am spiking to 21psi tapering to about 17 psi. At idle I am about 20 inHg

Will do a search to find out how to clean the maf sensor.

Any other ideas?

Cleaned the MAF sensor with carb cleaner-no change. The filter doesent look that oily now.

Dont think its a boost leak as it boosts from 21 psi to 18 over the range. Plus I hadnt touched the vac system of the car.

Any ideas to help out the dealership when I take it there?
