Question What's up with all these bolt-on turbo's...

I keep hearing about the "white rabbit" and "SS" turbo's, but still haven't seen a definitive answer as to whether they are any good. I would really like to get one of the AMS, RNR, Full-Race, etc., etc. turbo kits, but I dont have the $$$ to get one of those. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to get a good upgrade that could make good WHP numbers with stock like spool, but don't want the hassle of dealing with an entirely new kit.

I've search and found you need some type of EMS to do the white-rabbit, correct? What about the others that are out there? Can someone give me a or on what they think of these bolt-on turbo's?

you dont need an ems to control the white rabbit but it would help, also i think the white rabbit is not worth its price tag

one of these vendors should make a 10-sec bolt-on turbo(w/ supporting mods) for the EVO.....price tag under $2500 should do it...

This quest for a turbo that spools like stock and runs 10's is like the quest for the holy grail....their are many threads like this and it seems these turbos resemble TME performance (which aint bad folks) im still impressed getting near 400 crank hp from this 2.0L work horse. Perhaps casting bigger housings and wheels are the answer to modifying existing stock equipment. I agree, the price is steep. If it were in the $500 range id think i might try it....id hate to give such a low price for an example cause these guys put allot of R&D into their work.

I say give it time...maybe something new will pop up

the bolt on turbo's aren't for people really looking to make huge numbers. if you're looking for big numbers you'll be disappointed. the WR is good for people who want that little bit if extra something without getting too wild.

I dont see any major gains with these turbos using the stock housings just Choke the topend compaired to aftermarket turbos and housing's the can flow the exhaust needed to by pass the back pressure and detonation that follows from it.

I wana try an AEM EMS and ALky 1st. My car running the 50Trim and just a stock ECU may not be the best IDEA just yet. Its a brand new kit that I got a good deal on, But I REALLY wanted an AEM EMS and now I have been offered a good deal so I cant pass that up.
