what size turbo to get?

I am planning on doing a turbo upgrade istall within the next week. What size turbo should I go for? I don't really want to buy a pre made kit at all. I was thinking of going with a t3 50trim with .63A/R. Yet i don't think I have seen anyone run this turbo on an evo and if it would even make a good increase in power. I want it to be for daily driving but a street beast too. ANy inputs would help thanks

50 trim is always a winner for the street. Turbotrix turbo kit comsists of a slightly modified 50 trim to respond better on pump gas....

I checked the turbotrix website. Is it the kit that is 3600 buck? I am was actually going to piese it together. There is a guy here in NM that makes some pretty nice race manifolds, downpipes, and o2 housings. He said he will make me all 3 for a little over 1k. the turbo is 619.00 from cheapturbos.com. What engine managment should I run?

Its called R&D performance. They are pretty good at almost everything including tunning. I am going with them because alot of people have said there good. The only thing is that no one has done an evo in ALB yet. I think Speed lab is working on an evo with the 2.3 stroker and the ams GT35R kit. That evo has been a project in the works for about a year now and it's still not done. But other than that there are no evo really bumped up with many mods

thanks, definitely would like to stay in contact with you. i have not met anyone that has knowledge about quality shops. if you can, please pm me contact and location details. the 2.3 and stroker project sounds nice, i was planning on the same route, but since elevation is so high i figure its still not worth getting the 35r.

So these are gonna be my supporting mods. DC sports catback with test pipe, custom made downpipe with o2 housing and manifold, AEM intake, turbo xs bov, fuel rail, bushur racing deluxe front mount, Buschur racing ic piping, small battery kit, grounding wires, boost and oil pressure gauge, apexi turbo timer.... then install t3 50 trim with .63A/R and wither greddy emanage or turbo xs utec! What do you all think?

Dude, don't get a T3 those things are out dated. The GT series are way more effecient. Check out the garrett product catalog and look at the effeciencies on the compressor maps.

I have barely begun to try to under stand "trim" and "A/R" so I'm not sure on how to advise you there. I do know that the T3 has been around since the 80's i think, and it was marvelous at that time. Today there have been so many improvements though that even Garrett will tell you the GT series are superior in effeciency. You can download the Garrett catalog from there website with all their turbos, with compressor maps and see. Without knowing the finer points of turbo detail. Try to pick a turbo kit that the shop says will fit what power level you want, but also be the most effecient.
