stock turbo and alcohol injection
Every says the stock turbo can run 21psi safely. With alky how come you can run 26psi and not damage the turbo? The stock turbo can handle 21psi but if your running 26psi arent you just asking for trouble?

It isn't the turbo that can only handle 21psi. The turbo can handle 30+psi....its the motor that can't take more than 21psi ON PUMP GAS.
Its because the cylinder pressure begins to be too high for 93 octane gas, and detonation occurs....which cracks pistons ect.
With alky, you can raise the cylinder pressure, because of the effective octane being raised and the cooling effect it has on the motor. Race fuel does this more efficiently than 93+alky, therefore, you can run even more boost and even more advanced timing.
Hope that helps.

Alky Kit
Im gettin ready to put a new alky kit on my 03. but i still have stock everything: cams, gears, intake pipe and Internals. All i have is a 3" turbo back, intake, boost controller set to 20 psi, and an afc and im running 12.82@107. What is the best that you ran without the alky?
yes, thats how they all work....except, most dont' need a laptop to do that.
i hope you are preparing to pay for a tune, because just strapping the alky kit up and raising the boost won't have the car in tip-top shape. You'll def be running afr's in the 9s.

i was wondering how much is it to run straight methanol? Also if i wanted to set up my alky injection so its like a switch, kinda like nos, i couldnt use a reflash right? I would probably best off with something like a utec or AEM ems, so i can switch maps when shooting alky and when im not. Correct me if im wrong thx.
alky kits usually start around 10-14 psi and for the best power you run aggressive timing from that point up so you cant really have a switch to shut it off unless you only runn around 10 psi. if you run 20 psi on your meth tune then you'll knock due to too much timing.
And meth/alcohol does not raise your octane, it dramatically cools your intake charge. so the same tune for race gas and meth.
The SMC kits we sell have linear controllers so they raise boost as they go.

LMAO. So, all it does is cool the intake charge?
