Are all down pipes the same?
Is there any better performance from a $300 one over a $150 one? Also does a down pipe make the dealer any more inclined to "void" you

.Since people coddled you and let you ask stupid questions from day one without forcing you to search, you now think it's ok to continue asking stupid questions over and over and over without searching. It truly is a shame. I tried to do something about it, but everyone just complains that I'm being an ***. Well, here's the result of everyone else being too nice...
I still am completely mystified as to how you are able to afford an M3 convertible, yet aren't smart enough to use the search function. I know, I know, MONEY != BRAINS, but still...
It's a shame that this guy won't search, he is going to alienate himself from the people that have the most experience and knowledge and susequently not get the best information available.

. I do search all the time but can't seem to come up with what I am looking for. Remember I don't live for this car and I am sure there are several "boards and topics" that I could make you look stupid on as well. For the last time if you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't say anything.

For the last time if you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't say anything. I did provide something constructive - I told you to freakin' search. You, just like all the other lazy noobs, claim to search, but somehow NEVER FIND ANYTHING. Well, I searched for what you want to know and found tons of info on the very first try. I get tired of people claiming that they search and never find anything - all that means is they only try once, don't find exactly what they want, then don't bother trying different search parameters.
Please, go find a "board and topic" to make me look stupid. I welcome it. What you don't realize is that you'd get so much more help and so much more information if you'd just stop being lazy...

.Now, carry on with your stupid questions...
The funny thing is that if all the NOOBs didn't post topics like these....EvoM would be pretty sparse.
Back on topic:
Since I haven't seen all the supposedly inane topics....here's my two cents on downpipes.
Most downpipes are essentially the same....the important factors I looked at when looking at downpipes besides price were:
1) flex section/no flex section - really preference, some say with the flex there's more durability and better fitment and some like a staight pipe for a more direct TBE from the turbo the exhaust, i think it's just a matter of what you want.
2) 3" - i believe stock is 2.5", go for a truly 3" TBE.
3) weight - i don't believe there is a very significant different from downpipe to downpipe but usually complete TBEs weights differ.
4) stainless steel - highly recommend esp for those who drive their evos in the snow...but seeing you're from FL....rain....
5) flanged - i think everyone makes them flanged but Buschur did make them slip-fit once upon a time.
6) clear stock tie bars - unless you don't want them....or want rubbing...
that's about it! good luck!
