Installed a grounding kit

I installed a grounding kit last night and I immediately noticed better idleing. My RPM's went from 850 to 950-1000. This morning on the way to work, I heard a loud whoosh noise at full boost and my boost gauge goes up to 23.5 psi for about 2 seconds and then back down to 22 psi and holds. Normally, I hit full boost at 22 psi and it'll taper to 21 psi on the higher rpm end. The whoosh starts at about 22 psi and it kinda feels like the clutch slips and then kicks back in. And I know for sure that my clutch is ok. Does anyone know why or what that sound is?

btw - I have the Vishnu Xflash, no MBC, so I can't lower the boost.

I installed the wires at the alternator, intake manifold, OEM ground chassis point, headlight screw, valve cover, right side motor mount, and transaxle.

yeah, but it happens everytime i hit full boost and it worked fine for more than 1 year. all i did was unscrew some bolts, put the ground wires on them and tighten the bolts. i didn't mess with anything else or unhook anything. i don't know.

Well, generally, when troubleshooting a problem, you first remove the most recently-changed variable (e.g. grounding kit) and see if the problem persists. If it does, then you know it has nothing to do with the grounding kit. If it doesn't, then you know it's related to the grounding kit in some way, whether directly or indirectly. Have you uninstalled the grounding kit yet to test this theory?

ok, i put it back to stock ground and everything goes back to normal. i hooked up the grounding kit again and noticed more things:

1st, the turbo begins to spool now at 2700 rpm (which is pretty awesome) with 20psi and you hear the whoosh of the turbo, then the rpm jumps to 3000, that's when i hit 23psi and you hear another whoosh of the turbo. This happens in 4th or 5th gear. Haven't tried 3rd.
2nd, it'll hold 23psi for a couple seconds and the rpm goes to 3300.
3rd, then the rpm drops to 3000 and the boost tapers to 21psi and holds.

Does anyone know why this would do this? All due to a grounding kit? It's really wierd having the rpm drop from 3300 to 3000 and then it climbs normally. That's what I was trying to describe in the first post about how it feels like the clutch slips.

Sounds exactly like the clutch is slipping, but I don't know why it would happen only with the grounding kit.

when your clutch slips, does that make the boost go up past what the ecu's limit is?

also, why does the turbo now hit full spool at 3000? it's normally at 3500, right?

I know the difference is quite extreme, but when I installed my Downpipe and test pipe my clutch started to slip. Perhaps the increased spark is giving you just enough torque to slip the worn out clutch. Maybe?

ralliart's circle earth kit. It had complete Japanese written on it, not a lick of English, but it was just 7 wires, battery terminal and the circle that the wires hook up to.

i don't know. i don't think it's the clutch though. why would it only do it at 3300 rpm. btw i'm not shifting at the time of these results. i'm just in 4th or 5th and floor it. isn't it weird that the turbo spools at 2700 rpm now with 20psi? anybody else have experience with this low rpm turbo spool.

i'm going to try to make a video of the guages and sounds this weekend and post it up to show you guys what it's doing.

None of that is weird. In 4th and 5th, there is more load, so if you floor it from low rpm, the turbo will spool up sooner than in lower gears. Also, the reason why it is slipping at 3300 is because that's when you hit peak torque. Clutches don't slip at peak hp, but rather peak torque, which occurs when your boost spikes.

I installed a grounding kit and I made over 15 psi more of boost and the car has MUCH better traction now off the line! I can rev it to 8k on stutter, build 45psi and dump the clutch and the stock tires hold perfect now (before the ground kit they would spin). Im gonna install another kit and see if I can get even more performance out of the car!
