I would immagine it would add reliability and engine longevity as it cures detonation. The downside is that is another piece added to the puzzle that is your engine and must work together.

Methanol does not corrode internal parts. It evaporates in seconds. It does keep the insides spotless like water does.

It does excellerate wear on the bores. This is in fact why The grand nationals didn't come with injection from the factory. It was tested and long term bore wear was unacceptable. On my own motor after less than 15k miles the bores look like chrome. Very little signs of hash marks. Although my ring seal is nothing short of fantastic even at daily 35+ psi.

Dont know how much the life is shortened and I dont care. The benifits of alky are insane. I wouldn't have a turbo car without it. It would be similar to owning a turbo car without an intercooler. Way too much extra power to leave on the table.

Oil dilution is also a major problem when running meth. Oil has to be changed in VERY short intervals.
