mbc problems

i have been running a hallman mbc for a while now and have loved it. however, the other night my car was having issues (something that is getting solved now) so i decided to crank the mbc down all the way just for a little more safety then just driving it easy. however i ended up having to merge into traffic and the boost went pretty high, probably about 17psi. how is this possible with the mbc cranked all the way shut, i even opened it up a tiny amount to just make sure that having it all the way closed was not the problem and it would do the same. does anyone know what the deal is with the mbc its properly hooked up and has worked at 21 psi for a long time. i just want it to hold boost as low as possible while my car is in the process of getting fixed. (oh and the cars issues have nothing to do with the mbc)

I had the same trouble with my EVOIII turbo on my Eclipse. The turbo just won't do a low psi. I tried for 10psi but as soon as I got up in rpm it just went up. I sent it for 17psi and it was solid all the way through.

Did you turn it the right way? You said you "cranked it down all the way shut," but to lower the boost, you are supposed to open it up all the way by moving the knob OUT (counterclockwise). It could just be semantics, but the way you described it made it sound like you were cranking the boost all the way up.
