Before anyone starts.Did a search and this post simplifies it.

Im in the market for a intercooler and so far Im aiming at the AMS FMIC.

People don't generally see their gains in terms of actual peak HP/TQ. There doesn't seem to be any standard "gain" from any of the FMICs. They provide the most help when running a larger turbo. At the very least, you would want to have all of the other bolt-ons (tune, licp, cams, alky kit, tubular manifold, ported o2) first. Then, you could decide on a $700+ FMIC or actually upgrade your turbo for a similar amount.

Go with the AMS. They seem to be one of the most reputable company's around. I just had mine ordered b/c of a little fender bender worth $8,000.00. Thanks god for insurance. Don't forget to order the LICP w/ it. Don't even worry about the UICP b/c the gains are pretty minute in comparison to the $$$ you end up spending.

AMS is definitely a very reputable company, especially for Evo's, but that's no reason to buy the FMIC. People shouldn't just buy parts because of the name of the vendor. You should buy the parts that provide you the highest quality for the lowest price. Sometimes you pay more for name than you do for performance.

you may not see much gains power wise, but it'll be better at cooling. you will probably also see more lag.

Can you say why you are upgrading your FMIC now? You still won't need one even with cams. There are a lot of mods you still need that provide much higher power gains while costing a lot less than an FMIC.
