Compression Test Too High?

What did I do wrong, did a compression test IAW posted procedure but the test resulted in:
190, 191, 190, 195 1 thru 4 respectively.

What did I do wrong? Did I turn engine over too many times (4-5 cycles)?
Engine was also hot.

Guage must be way off (cheap $25 setup), I'll have to retest more consistantly and perhaps check someone elses car w/t the same setup to be sure.

You have to watch the needle and count up to 5 pulses then stop. Your numbers sound like you cranked her over until it went no more.

5 turns should be where the needle stops, you shouldnt get more comp. out of the car after that... i have seen many people with these numbers, and have not heard any real probs yet... just make sure since your that high you have to be real careful that you always run good gas..

Did another test, this time with 7 complete cycles of turning over:

190, 194, 191, 195 (at least results are < 3% 1 thru 4)

So most likely the lower first readings on on 2 & 3 were probably from not turning over enough - twas 3 times maybe.

I was just curious if others had #'s like these. My car has always seemed slightly slower, especially when it was all stock and when comparing to my brother's 04 911 4S - the Evo should at least have felt comparable to that stock.

Well, I'll be getting custom street tuned this Saturday maybe Al can shed some light on this with the data logging. Thanks

There is nothing to worry about with the high numbers. (they aren't that high). What's more important is any variance between cylinders which you're also well withing spec on.
