HKS SSQV BOV Blow Off Valve Evolution Evo with I/C Pipe

Check this out:

Does this sound like a good deal? I spoke with the vendor and he believes that idle and stalling problems associated with this BOV are due to a missing cap, which comes on the HKS SSQV but disengages itself once you start your car for only a few moments after installation. "If the stopper is not put in tight, it would fly off and the Evo would have idle problem". "HKS comes with the steel stopper, but the design is not brilliant and after the first minutes of the installation, mine just fly off".

"I bought that white cap or stopper from home depot for less than $1. I did not realize the HKS stopper came out until I opened the hood and inspect what caused the idle and stalling problems. I noticed the steel stopper was gone and the pressure just leaking out causing all that".

This topic has been discussed repeatedly and this issue has been commonly believed to be associated with EVO's MAP. Do you think it is possible--all you tech guys--that idle and stalling problems associated with VTA are due to a faulty stopper.

Leave your two cents and no hating either.

negative ghost rider, you'll still have driveability issues. Buy my upper IC and SSQV ver2 kit, $175 shipped and find out for yourself. I'll throw in the samco hoses I bought for it as well.

Is This Problem Associated With The Evo Map Only Found In 03, 04 Models? Correct Me If Im Wrong But I Have Been Told That The 05 Map Is Different Than Previous Years; Possibily Related To Vta.

Sorry for interupting but I thought this would be a good opportunity to ask if anyone tried this:
  1. Go to spensers and get a woopy cushion $4.95
  2. Carefully cut the woopy cushion in half with sharp scissors
  3. Zip tie the fart end to the output of your VTA (w/o Stock MAF of course)
  4. Now your woosh sound is replaced with a mild but distinct FART sound
Variations to this can be duck calls, harmonicas, horns, use your imagination.

Note: The above procedure can be modified by attaching a hose extension therby allowing the woopie cushion to be place outside the engine bay for a more pronounced crap.

I never had a problem with the cap flying off... you clamp it tight.

The upper IC pipe did pop off alot when I put it on the first time, alot of people were having this problem and someone suggested using hair spray... it worked.. never popped off since.

I thought the ssq was cool for a while but now I regret getting it, As I got further more into mods it started becoming a problem I think.... It may have even been the reason my 02 sensor went out.. who knows..
