My Evo's intercooler had a close encounter with some sort of animal a while back, which left some damage to it. A number of the little fins are bent up. Otherwise there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

Is it worth trying to straighten out those fin things, I'm wondering if it is screwing up the air flow?

nah, as long as its not affecting your boost levels, dont worry about it. dont bother fixing it if it bothers you, just buy a nice upgrade. (greddy/ams/hks)

 

I can usually wring 19psi out of in when I get on it. Today I saw a hair under 20psi. I don't like the look of the intercooler, and don't have the funds to get an upgrade. The other side looks fine, can the intercooler be turned around?

My stock 03 has just been feeling weak to me more and more. The initial launch is ok, it's just that the mid to upper range feels empty although it's posting proper boost when I get it spooled up.

I chased a c4 vette from 35mph to 75mph today, and he just out torqued me and was able to pull on me some. He launched first and it felt like the thing just didn't want to make good power. Sometimes it seems that the harder I push it, the less it wants to go. I've been looking for causes with no sucess. I'd like to thing that it's capable of more. My Evo is second owner, and I have already chased out F ups that the OO did.

Well..upper range power does prettymuch suck on the evos cuz of the taper...but that can always be fixed

 

Cams can help your mid and upper range if you dont already have them.
