water temp gauge, sensor location solutions

Searched and found a few setups that suggested those in-hose sensor mounts (cut-up the top radiator hose, stick the pipe in between) and also some that suggested T-ing off the stock location (and some suggesting NOT to tee of the stock location).

Question regarding the in-hose setup. Reading on some of those in-line hose setups they suggest you stick it into the upper radiator pipe. Why not the lower pipe? What if the T-stat gets stuck closed, would the gauge still show "normal" temps?

Also those threads were kind of dated though so thought I'd ask to see any "new" setups or solutions.

Thanks in advance!

I suggest using the upper radiator hose manufactured by Blitz.

The 1/8 NPT fitting is located on the underside of the hose so the sensor does not get in the way of hood clearance. It's a great part for those looking to have a water temperature sensor installed without having to cut up their existing hose.

i have used a greddy in hose block for two years with my defi bf water temp. guage. the greddy adapter is good quality, blue anodized and i have had no issues with it. i guess you could put it in the lower hose if you want.

Dan over at Bushcur disconnected the stock one and just hooked it up to the autometer temp gauge.

38mm is a bit large. 34mm is a bit small. I measured the upper radiator inlet to be 36mm.
