Stripped the threads on the trans!

when i was bolting up the t-case to the trans, i guess i tightened too much and stripped the threads on the trans. what is the size and thread of the bolt, and where can i get a helicoil repair kit. its difficult to find ones that size and in metric.

I obviously do not know what local hardware stores you have in your area but I have purchased metric helicoil kits from NAPA. I do remember the exact pitch of the bolt. Just take it there with you and you can size it up.

Please buy a torque wrench too while your there as torque specs are very important when doing serious engine/tranny work.
