Case Study # 104 - 2005 MR makes mega TQ!

I am posting this here as this is the most power I have ever seen with a similar set up and the car is an animal

Here is a guy named Dave came in to have a new Exedy Twin clutch put in today to Pruven and a fuel pump

His mods are

2005 MR
HKS RS Intake
HKS 264 exh / 272 int cams
3" exhaust turbo back - BUSCHUR - w/ high flow cat
Walbro fuel pump
FORGE MBC

Custom Dyno Flash at 23 psi falling to 20.5

This is on 93 octane pumpo gas

This is the strongest 2005 I have tuned with these mods

The car was pulling so hard that the new Exedy Clutch was slipping and we had to abort the dyno session so he could put some more break in miles on the clutch

EVO POWER

It is what it is - I have no reason to lie, this gentleman is a customer and this was witnessed by a EVO-NY member Henri who was here at the time it was done

Its just a particularly strong car, a good tune, a great exhuast and some good air tonight

As we always say, just need to see it run 117mph in the 1/4 on pump gas. It would be the first ever...

I do not need to see anything, those are impressive numbers no matter what considering the mods on this car or the lack of mods. Nice numbers congrats.

Well, of course. The numbers aren't just impressive; they are unprecedented. A 116-117mph trap just verifies the mph, though not so much the torque. The mods, or lack thereof, have nothing to do with using the drag strip to validate dyno results. It's pretty standard fare. Indeed, these numbers are great. We just haven't seen them without race gas or meth before today.

I agree with verification using traps at the quarter...but this still is a great curve and the torque curve = a very fun evo to drive on the street for sure. Every number or record or standard will be broken, this is the nature of things. What are you basing the 116-117mph numbers on?
