rear diff question
rear diff question
so i had the rear end of my car jacked up tonight to do the rear brake pads. while it was up i decided to check everything out because i have been suspecting that something was kinda wrong with it lately. i spun the rear driverside wheel and the rear passenger side spun the opposite direction just as it should. however, there was about 2 inches of play before it would spin the other wheel it wasnt like i could just spin the wheel an inch and it would do the same on the other side. is this normal? if not what could the culprate to the problem be? also the last time i went to do donuts in the car the rear wouldnt kick out at all. i dont do them often so i really would appreciate not being flamed for that, its my car and i will do what i please with it. on another note, the car gets great traction still, it pulled 1.6 60' at the track not too long ago. thanks for any help.
alright, yeah i wasnt too sure about it, i mean there was no noise coming out of it and it drives fine. for some reason the thing wont spin donuts anymore now, its not driver error either (i know how many people say that but im serious) the rear end just wont break loose at all. it used to do it with ease.
actually if you read the signature it was posted by a member called zectasy, not myself. i felt that it was a funny comment but obviously you are offended by it so i apologize and will remove it if it bothers you that much.
