coolant question..

coolant question..

hello all.. anyways umm my coolant is extremely low(nothing in the resavoir while looking in) and bought some 50/50 already and on it, it says that i have to drain it and all this before i can put the new stuff in.. so i wanted to know if i have to drain all of it and everything first b4 i put the new one in (same equilivant) or if i can just refill it
ps i know there aint a problem or anything had it for like 6 months and wasnt sure if i just could refill and go anyways thanks

same with me, it looks empty and I havent had any problems. But the coolant I have says you can add it to whatever you have already...

on the meter it says its still fine like when i get it (exactly on the middle) but when i look inside i could see the bottom i know thats not a good sign.. but more help plz

you're talking about the coolant resivour right? I believe mine is empty also, but have no leaks at all. I am goning to go check it again.

i just top off mine yesterday with 50/50 , i dont think u need to drain it.....

No need to drain, just fill the raidator untill full, and fill the resivor to the "cool" max line. Run the car untill the thermostat opens run it like that for a few and check and top off and ur done. The only reason you would need to fill it is if you had it in there for a while and you needed to change it.
