Hopefully I will get up to Philly next week. Decided to try this ECUTek flash. Hope to see some improvements over my current stats with my new cams and smc alcohol injection kit.

Tell Nick #2 that he is not in Spain anymore, remind him that the siestas are well over, he is not in Salamanca anymore..

Hi,

Sorry I hadn't been back here for awhile. What I meant was that the silencer cost me ~50 WHP on the dyno. I was just making a wild *** guess on where I am with the same setup and stock cat-back.

The following was all during a custom tune session at Pruven last Spring. Numbers were uncorrected Dynojet.

I made 250 whp with the "silenced" Helix CB. I made 300 whp with the "unsilenced" Helix CB prior to dynoflash. I made 330 whp with the final custom dynoflash and "unsilenced" Helix. I put the silencer back in after a few weeks, and obviously the car felt slower. Probably about ~50 WHP slower. I then switched to the stock cat-back. I would guess I'm probably around 300 WHP, maybe a little less. Just speculation of course. I think it's a little faster than with the silenced Helix.

It sounds like the Fujitsibo is very quiet, but it's kinda spendy. I'm also considering a exhaust cutout, but apparently the electronic ones eventually leak... Decisions, decisions.

Thanxs for the info, berkel.

I'm still undecided about which way to go: either get a quieter 3" catback, put back the original or install a mufler between the TP and the CB like my friend Carlos (fromWRXtoEVO) suggested. Bottom line is the actual setup is unacceptable to my standards, and it has to go. My goal is not to be mistaken with the "fast and furious" phenomenon.

There are a few option to solve your problem, you can custom install a muffler(just the muffler). Works Racing has a stealth muffler wich is a the stock muffler stripped from all the insulation inside the muffler.

Carlos
But Carlos, if you strip the insulation from the inside of the muffler, that would defeat the purpose of making the car quieter, right?
Does Work Racing sell those mufflers or do you have to send them yours for the modification? Remember that my Evo is catless and it has a 3" DP. The car sounded GREAT with the silencer, but I can't afford to waste 40 whp...

Your car is definetely quieter than mine, but still too loud for my delicate ears

Probably next week. The closest track is Capitol Raceway located at Crofton, MD...just 11 miles from where I'm at.
I'll probably start a new thread to find out which track is the fastest one around DC/Baltimore.

I have run equal times at all 3 in the area (Capitol, Mason Dixon, and MIR). Since Cap is only 11 miles away, you should go there. The other two are probably 60 miles from you, depending on where you are. I ran my 12.01 at Capitol, so I think it's plenty fast enough for you. You could also show up at Imports vs Domestics this Sunday at MIR, since that's where all of the local Evos will be (well, not all, but you know...).

I got rid of my Greddy Ti, and got the Perrin unit. The Perrin is an amazing piece..fit & finish. It is a little quieter at 70 mph and significantly quieter at low speeds. I recomend checing it out....JSC Speed for under 560 shipped.
