EGR blockoff?

For some stupid reason, my EGR valve is throwing a code. I reset the battery, and the code will come back in 150-200 miles. I've inspected the lines going to the valve and everything's good. I don't know what else to do.

Now I know that some cars just block off the EGR completely, so can we do it? And is there a way when you block it off to trick the computer as to not set off the CEL? Some cars just use a resistor.

Thanks for any help.
