AMS (Gt35R?, Gt3071R?,GT3076)????

Ok, I will start off by saying AMS is a great company and they have 3 very good turbo kits that i am looking at and, well, i just dont know what to do. I need to know how the spool up is on all three kits, and what the HP and 1/4 time may be for a slightly modded evo? Please help

This is what i have so far:

GT35RL kit - 775hp, spool 3600-4200

GT3071R kit- 550 hp, spool 2900-3500

GT3076R kit- 650hp, spool 3200-3800

I have heard of those kits that have big HP numbers, but spool up very slow and only knock a few tenths of a second off the 1/4. I want a kit that has very quick spool, but good enough for driving alot and has a good hp number. I dont know what to do!!!!!!

dont go with the 2.0 L motor with the 35 if you want quick spool up,, id stay with the 3071 it nets just about the same numbers as the 3076 power wise do a search on it,

if your getting a stroker kit 2.3L 3071 will spool like stock and 35 spool up time will not be to bad!

Ok, Let's say i get the 3071, will the spool be faster than stock? And i've heard of guys running low 11's or high 10's off this kit. Is that true? I guess what i need to know is, is the 3071 a better kit than the 3076? The 76 has about 50-100 more hp for about 100 or 150 dollars less. It just sounded good to me

nothing will spool as fast as the stock turbo but the 3071 will be close. The more power you want the more laggier the turbo will be.

Keep in mind that the spoolup rpms posted above are in a perfect world in a high gear. Not what I would say you will get so when choosing keep that in mind.

Ok, let's say all three of these turbos were on the same exact evo's with the same mods and we all did let's say a 30 mph drop. which one would win from 30-120? lol. Just trying to figure out what i'm doing here. i have talked to about 10 different people and all them are saying to get different AMS kits and i am just trying to figure out which one would be best for me, not only for hp reasons, but for reliablilty too.

sounds like you want a highway car, go with the GT35R, it has the most top end out of all those turbos

Well see that's the thing. I want an all-rounded turbo kit. Strip, street and highway. I think i'm either leaning towards the 3076, or the 3071. Dont really know which one. Do any of you have expierence with these kits and know what they are like? I just wish i could put one on, test it, take it off, put the other on, test it, and then make my decision.

I have experience with a GT35R on a built 2liter. It is a little laggy but insane on the highway and in the quarter. If you are looking for all around go with the GT35 with a stroker. It will give you plenty of power for drag and highway as well as quick spool up. I personally am fine with the 2 liter with a 35r on it, just downshift lol

I haven't seen any real evidence that the 3071 spools appreciably better than the 3076. It also doesn't make "almost" as much power. I'd go with the 3076.

You can make a 35r very streetable, it all depends on your other mods

I will go 3071R or 3076R, but don't know wich one to choose.

No GT35R for me cause you need way to much support mods for that kind of turbo and I can't use that type of turbo everyday.

Ok, for the 3076 and the 3071 would i need to upgrade my Apexi S-AFC to maybe an AEM EMS? or a turbo xs utech? I dont really know if i want a complete standalone, so would the Utech be fine? or should i just leave me Apexi how it is?
