i was driving my evomr today and when i hit it into third gear there was a popping noise that came in the front. at first i thought it was an i/c hose but it was not. there was black smoke comming heavily from the exhaust and when you hit the gas it had spuddering noise and it barely moved. i tried to start the car earlier and it would not start. the turbo has also been making some funny whinning noise. i think it could eighter be the turbo or i jump timing. i need all the help i could get on this one. thanks........

 

sounds like intake leak somewhere...............check all including the intercooler for damage.

 

Tow it somewhere and do a tear-down.

Check your I/C piping tract, make sure non of the couplers are ripped. Check the turbo for shaft play. Two quick and easy things you can do first.

 

pull the intake, look for leaks, while in there spin the turbine... also look for excess oil in the intake..
